Nokia Lumia 630 Ultimate buying guide

 Nokia (or Microsoft) has announced Lumia 630 in India at a price of Rs. 10,500 (single SIM) and 11,500  (dual SIM).It is the first of the new range of Nokia Lumia devices running the updated Windows Phone 8.1 OS. The phone seems to be priced quite high and the features are not really impressive.
  So here's a guide to help you decide whether you should buy it or not.

    First let's have a look at the specs of this new offering.

The specs don't impress as the RAM is just 512 MB which is not enough. Almost all phones at this price range offer 1 Gb of RAM.

Even the recently launched Lumia 525 offers 1 GB RAM. While the Nokia Lumia 630 makes good progress on the SoC front, the paltry 512MB RAM is a questionable decision by Microsoft/Nokia. With heavier Apps and games hitting the Windows Phone App store, 512MB RAM is really very disappointing.

Large screen but low resolution: The phone has a 4.5 inch IPS display but the resolution is big setback. The pixel density drops to poor 218 pixels per inch. Lumia 630’s lower pixel density might not be very evident on the Windows Phone 8.1 tile based UI, but it will surely make a difference when browsing the web or playing latest games. A resoltion of 720p was expectedfrom Nokia. Having mentioned all these, the upgrade to corning Gorilla Glass 3 is welcomed by us.

Camera not that good: Nokia is famous for its camera hardware and image quality but Lumia 630 could not stand on the expectations.

It offers a 5MP camera and lacks flash.

Battery and Design: It is powered by a 1830mAh battery, an appreciable upgrade from Lumia 525's 1430 mAh battery.

Sounds pretty good for a 4.5-inch display and with Windows Phone 8.1’s power management capabilities it should offer a long battery backup.

     It has an all-plastic body like the other entry level Lumias but manages to provide a cool look. The phone has a removable soft polycarbonate back panel which comes in a variety of colours including Orange, Green, Yellow, White and Black and is comfortable to hold and use.

"People who already have a Lumia device, or even the ones who are planning to upgrade from the Lumia 520/525 should probably give the Lumia 630 a miss.  Moto E is backed by a 1980 mAh battery which is a plus-point for a low cost phone like this. Motorola claims that Moto E has "the power to last" and phone stands on this claim. It can easily run through the whole day with average usage. Battery is the stronghold of this budget oriented phone.
